China announced on Tuesday a 17-player roster for the upcoming women's basketball training camp in preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) league champions Sichuan saw Wang Siyu, Han Xu, Li Meng and Tang Ziting selected in the list, while runners-up Inner Mongolia also had four players, Li Yuan, Pan Zhenqi, Zhang Ru and Sun Mengran, featured in the roster. Other players are Huang Sijing, Yang Liwei and Yang Shuyu of Guangdong, Luo Xinyu and Jin Weina of Jiangsu, Zheng Ming and Tang Yu of Beijing, Shanxi's Wu Tongtong, and Li Yueru who is currently playing for the WNBA side Los Angeles Sparks. The training camp will be held from May 5 to June 18. China has been drawn into Group A with Spain, Serbia and Puerto Rico at this summer's Paris Olympics. The top two of each group and the best two third finishers will enter the quarterfinals. |
